This pitcher debuted with the Boston Braves in 1913, retiring from there in 1919. Nice signature and "Boston Nationals 1913 - 1919 / Miracle Braves 1914" in blue ballpoint, heavy stock 5" X 3" card, n.p., n.y. Near fine. "Miracle Braves" refers to the Boston Braves 1914 championship year, when they moved from last placed at midseason to winning the pennant; James pitched 2-0 in the World Series -- the first recorded sweep in World Series history.
