Titled (in Spanish) "Court of First Instance of This City," this partly-printed document is a "Sentence Extract," and reports that 48-year-old former banker Sergio Beliavsky, a Russian from St. Petersburg, was found guilty of murdering 37-year-old jeweler Alejandro Petrovicz, from Odessa. He is sentenced to five years in prison, payment of court costs (1987 pesetas 40 centimes) and restitution to Petrovicz's family (12,000 pesetas). At lower left, above the circular red inkstamp of the "Tribunal Correccional de 1a. Instancia Madrid," Prieto as president of this court signs large and bold in brown ink. Attractive, intriguing document -- worthy of further research.
