Award-winning California graphic designer whose 1960s U.S. postage stamp designs include the 1966 5-cent "Washington" and the 1967 3-cent "Parkman" stamps. Signed First Day Cover, 6½" X 3½", cancelled in Springfield, Illinois on 28 May 1966 and with "First Day of Issue" boldly stamped. Fine. Two 4-cent Hyde-designed "Lincoln" stamps at upper right. No decorative cachet at left; no distracting recipient's name/address. At lower left, in pale blue fountain pen, Hyde signs, adding "Designer." With small portion of original transmittal envelope.
