This New York politician became Grover Cleveland's private secretary in his first administration (1885-89) and secretary of war in his second administration (1893-97). Incredibly bold and choice "Daniel S. Lamont / Secretary of War" in thick black fountain pen, heavy stock 4 3/4" X 3½" card, n.p., n.y. Fine. Printed at top of this superb card is the circular seal of the "United States of America / War Office." A finer example cannot be found. Item #24412
