Signed color print, 22" X 20", n.p., n.d. Near fine. Titled "Eagles in the Sky / Messerschmitt ME 163B-1A Komet," this print depicts an August 16, 1944 dogfight over Leipzig, Germany in which a stray B-17 encounters a squadron of Messerschmitts. Opitz boldly signs the lower blank margin in pencil, numbering it #11 of an edition of 500 copies. This item has been simply and tastefully matted in grey and framed in a slim metal frame (overall dimensions 27" X 24").
