A scarce 1½" diameter medallion of an unusual and ultra-light fiber material, brownish red in color, manufactured by Henning & Eymann of New York. Recto features a fine profile of a youthful, clean-shaven Lincoln facing right; verso shows an open laurel wreath and within it the caption "Beloved / Alike / By Rich / and Poor." Very good. Item #20441
Some sources identify this as an 1860 campaign token, but Cinningham is no doubt correct in placing it post-1890. King, for some reason, places this in its "Miscellaneous" section rather than its "Politicals, First Campaign" section. KING 789. Scarce.
