The namesake son of the great silent film villain was himself a versatile charactor actor; making his screen debut in 1920 alongside his famed father, he appeared in countless films over the years ("The Mark of Zorro," "The Mighty Treve," etc.) and is often remembered as James Garner's father on television's "The Rockford Files" (1974-80).
