First edition of this study by the French composer and chapel master of Dijon Cathedral, handsomely signed and inscribed (in French) to American pianist John Leiser and dated Dijon, 14 June 1949 on the printed dedication page. Laid in is Samson's calling card and the front portion of the envelope in which this book was transmitted, addressed entirely in Samson's hand and signed again. Very unusual.
