Quite uncommon prospectus for the "Centennial Edition" of this 1905 eight-volume set, subtitled "Together with The Essay on Lincoln, by Carl Schurz / The Address on Lincoln, by Joseph H. Choate / and The Life of Lincoln, by Noah Brooks." Originally published by G.P. Putnam's Sons in various formats ("Collector's Federal Edition," "Connoisseur's Federal Edition" and "Constitutional Edition"), then reprinted by Collier. The 8-volume Collier set is fairly common, but this prospectus for it is seldom encountered. Spine may be rough, else a fairly attractive and internally fine copy. MONAGHAN 1466 note.
