Quite attractive and tight first softbound edition of this thorough "Historic Structures Report." Interesting autograph addition: Title page notes "And the Technical Supervision of Randle B. Truett, Chief Historian, National Capital Region," and tipped to inside front wrapper is an Autograph Letter Signed from Truett, 1p, 5½" X 8½", Arlington, VA, 3 December 1966. Addressed to noted Lincoln scholar Arnold F. Gates (1914-93). Near fine. On custom letterhead, Truett thanks Gates for a New York Civil War Round Table speaking engagement. In part: "I will indeed be happy to accept your kind invitation to speak at the Round Table meeting of February 14. 'Tragedy at Ford's Theatre' would be a very good topic I agree...." with details about length, what to wear, etc. Signed postscript on verso as well. Nicely penned in blue ballpoint, signed simply "Randle." Truett (1904-78) was the long-time custodian of the Lincoln Museum and a noted Lincoln writer.
