Glassine a bit edgeworn, with a few small edge chips and age toned spine. Number 1 in the "Chefs-d'Oeuvre Classiques de l'Opera Francais" series -- rather cryptic, but a superb facsimile of a 19th century French text for this groundbreaking 1581 work that was the first dramatic performance to combine dance, music and poetry into a unified whole. Beaujoyeux (died 1587) was an Italian composer, violinist and choreographer who developed theatrical dance and opera, mainly in France. A tight, clean, handsome first edition of this modern facsimile. As presiding judge of the County Court in the eastern district of Jackson County (to which he was elected in 1926, serving until 1933), Truman signs this legal document regarding a land dispute claim filed by a Daniel W. and Vida M. Brown, which he approves to be filed "for adjudication and determination." Purple inkstamped "Approved" datestamp near the bottom, where Truman signs boldly in black ink.
