A 1 3/4" diameter gold-finish medallion depicting a three-quarter view of an unbearded Lincoln based on Alexander Hesler's famed portrait. Sculptor's name, H. Zearing, visible at left of Lincoln's neck. Verso bears two quotations: "With Malice Toward / None with Charity / for All with Firmness / in the Right as God / Gives Us to See the / Right Let Us Strive On" and "Let Us Have Faith That / Right Makes Might and / in That Faith Let Us / to the End Dare to / Do Our Duty as We / Understand It." Very good. One of the most striking of all Lincoln medallions.
