First edition of this hefty overview of the famed county in northwestern Illinois that lays claim to U.S. Grant and the city of Galena, at one time briefly the world's leading producer of lead. For such a large volume that rarely survives in handleable collector's condition, this is a tight and clean and quite nice copy despite minor flaws. Very scarce.
